It wasn’t until January 22nd when Shinji Kagawa last made an appearance for United, but he came on as a substitute during Tuesday’s game against Olympiakos – much to the delight of the United fans.

After Tuesday night’s horrific performance against Olympiakos which resulted in a 2-0 defeat, questions were being asked about United’s plan going into the game. With a poor defensive performance from the Reds’ the attacking needed to show signs of hope, but this wasn’t the case. Having named Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie in the squad to try and squeeze for a crucial away goal, it looked like Moyes was going to attack from the start in Athens, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

With just over 30 minutes to go, Shinji Kagawa replaced Tom Cleverley but people wondered as to why the former Dortmund midfielder didn’t start…
